Frequently Asked Questions

When should I see an ENT specialist?

Consider seeing an ENT specialist if you are experiencing persistent snoring, nasal congestion, recurring sinus or ear infections, hearing changes, chronic sore throat, dizziness, or unexplained neck lumps, especially if symptoms do not improve with general treatment.
An ENT doctor treats conditions affecting the ears, nose, throat, and related areas of the head and neck. Common ENT issues in Singapore include sinusitis, tonsillitis, rhinitis, sleep apnoea, and ear infections.
ENT conditions are diagnosed through a combination of physical examination, patient history, and specialised tests. These may include endoscopy, imaging scans (CT or MRI), hearing assessments (audiometry), allergy tests, or biopsies.
Before your ENT appointment, it is helpful to keep a detailed record of your symptoms, including when they started, how often they occur, and how severe they are. Create a list of all medications you are currently taking. If available, bring along relevant medical records. This preparation helps your ENT specialist better understand your condition and recommend the right course of treatment.
